Youth-Led Grants support Youth-based Projects. These grants are designed to uplift Youth voice and action within the proposed Service Area through Youth-centered empowerment and design.
The goals of Youth-Led Grants are to:
- Create a funding source to support Youth-led Projects across Oregon.
- Provide low-barrier and low-risk opportunities for Youth to access Project funding.
- Increase Youth participation in Youth-led safe and welcoming opportunities.
- Encourage Youth engagement and leadership within their communities.
- Empower Youth voice and action through community-based service providers.
Project services and/or activities must create an opportunity for Youth to act on something important to them within their community. A proposed Project could include, but is not limited to:
- Creating support and/or services
- Honoring the whole person, family, and/or community
- Creating fun and interesting opportunities
- Social well-being and connection
- Youth-led Projects, activities, and/or educational opportunities
- Amplifying Youth voice, empowerment, action, and/or impact
- Supporting Youth through stipends or honoraria to plan and/or participate in implementing the Project
- Supporting Tribal, cultural, and/or community Youth-centered activities and programming
Applicant Eligibility
To be eligible for a Grant under this RFA, Applicants must deliver all Grant-funded services to Youth in Oregon and:
- Be a current 2025-27 YDD Grantee with at least one executed Grant Agreement or Inter-Governmental Agreement in place prior to Application submission
- Attest to currently meeting all insurance requirements as outlined within their current Grant Agreement/s or Inter-Governmental Agreement/s
- Attest to being able to provide documentation of meeting current insurance requirements as outlined in Attachment E within 2 weeks of receiving an Intent to Award for any successful Application under this RFA
- Attest to proposed Project being designed and created by Youth (ages 6-24) while being guided by program staff and attest to having the capacity to carry out the Project being Youth-Led if awarded, beginning with Project Plan through the Project and reporting
Attest to Application being fully reviewed by designated program staff for feasibility, having organizational approval if awarded, and that Application was entered into Survey Monkey Apply (SM Apply) and submitted by authorized organizational representative
- Be one of the following organization types
- One of the nine federally recognized tribes in Oregon
- A nonprofit organization
- A faith-based organization
- A public benefit company
- A mutual benefit corporation
- An Oregon community college, education service district, public school district, or public school
- A county or city, or a county or city governmental entity in Oregon
An Applicant must have an active registration with the Oregon Secretary of State’s business registry, when applicable, that matches the organization type selected in the Application.
If awarded, Applicant must deliver Grant-funded services supporting an Oregon community, service, need, activity, and/or individuals living in Oregon. All Grant funds must remain in and serve Oregon.
